AWCA is founded in 1986 with an aim to address issues relating to women and children. The society engages in all forms of activities and takes up projects for the overall empowerment of women and girls. AWCA engages in areas like Gender Issues, Violence on women and children, Awareness Training, Lobby and Advocacy, Skill Development Training, Preservation of Natural resources, Education for children living in difficult circumstances, Land based farming, Human Rights, Relief and Rehabilitation.
