INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN 2021

One Stop Centre- Sakhi Churachandpur organised an event to observe INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN on 25.11.2021 at OSC building.

The event started with plantation of trees by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Functional President, special guests, pastors and women leaders from different organisations.

The OSC building was dedicated with a prayer by Rev. Stephen which was followed by welcome and keynote address from Centre Admin, Ms Grace Zamnu.

Guests of the day all stressed on the importance of women and the need to protect them. Chief Guest represented by Shri Yumnam Nelson, ADC CCPUR declared the work of OSC for 18 months as “commendable” and wishes the centre the best in future.

Shri Joseph Pauline Kamson, IAS, DC CCPUR applauds the achievement of OSC and explains his concern for the need to strengthen OSC CCPUR and wishes his district OSC would follow this example in future.

Shri Dharun Kumar, IAS, SDO CCPUR

mentions the dire need to educate, empower and protect women for they are the pillar of society and the country.

Km. Hasby Haokip, MPS Addl. SP CCPUR creates awareness on Senior Citizenship Act, how we are vulnerable to misuse of law to protect gender violence and the need to be educated and informed when cases that are gender sensitive occurs.

There was brief report on the status of OSC from the  Miss Lamdeichiin, Case Worker, OSC CCpur.

Announcement of winner for the photography contest was announced! Christopher Faiheng from Saikot bagged a certificate, customised OSC mug and a cash prize of ₹5000/-.

Chief Guests, Guest of Honour, Functional President and Special Guests along with pastor and Reverend were given a memento designed with a collage of the photography contest pictures.

KUKI KHANGLAI LAWMPI (KKL) was given a special recognition award for their timely help in donating blood for a victim of OSC. The victim was anaemic and was sexually abused and impregnated without her consent. OSC appreciates their support.

All participants of the event were gifted with a customised mug that contains HELPLINE NOS to create an awareness of One Stop Centre.
