INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2020 “I AM GENERATION EQUALITY: REALISING WOMEN’S RIGHT”

International women’s day 2020 was observed on the 7th March 2020 (8th being Sunday) at the Administrative office of Action for Women and Child Advancement (AWCA), Lailam Veng, Churachandpur under the aegis of AWCA with the theme:
“I AM GENERATION EQUALITY:
REALISING WOMEN’S RIGHT”.

It aims to Generation Equality in bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity,race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world all deserve.

The programme was attended by over 100 women from different Self-Help Groups, NaRMGs and tailoring trainees under Tailoring project executed by AWCA.

Speech from resource person:

1. Smt. Grace Zamnu, AWCA Chief Functionary on the Topic of ‘’ Women Right, Gender equality and empowerment of women’’. On her address and speech to the gatherings, the Secretary elaborated several issues faced by women and the issue of discrimination prevailing in the society. She urged one and all to tackle problem and abuse targeted against women with courage and discipline. On addressing the gathering.

2. Shri. S.Lianzalal, Legal Aid Clinic Coordinator on Topic of ‘’Women and Child trafficking’’.
He highlighted issues pertaining to human trafficking and urged the gatherings to take great care in sending their wards to work outside the state of Manipur due to the issue of human trafficking
After all speech from resource person vote of thanks was given By Mr. M.Kapsutlian, AWCA Project Director, he also thanking to all the participants and the dignitaries of today International women’s Day Program. The program was Conclude with thanksgiving and blessings prayer from Pa, Jammang of Kingkin village which was followed by a light refreshment.
