Mission Mangminlen-Search Operation by Childline team
On 8th of January 2019,Childline-AWCA Team Visited T Monglham Village and met the parents of Mangminlen Haokip at their residence. Baby Mangminlien, aged 10 have been reported to be missing since the 30th of Dec 2018. Mangminlen is a child with special needs and has difficulty with speech and hearing.
According to information provided by the parents, Mr Mangminlien was last seen at 1:30pm playing in the church premises. The family came to learn about his absence around 2:00pm when the child was nowhere to be found where they last saw him. The family along with the residents of Monghlam village searched for the missing boy for the next two days. After New Year celebrations ended on the 3rd Jan 2019, the family spread the news to the surrounding villages and to the public through various forms of media. Youth from near and far villages, philanthropic organisations, civil society bodies came together and helped the family in their search for the missing child. AWCA was part of this search and rescue team helping out in terms of human resource and providing psychological and emotional support to the family.
AWCA appeals to all parents to ensure our children remain safe. AWCA further appeals to all concerned citizens and bodies to keep vigil, continue to support the family in any possible capacity and keep them in our prayers through these difficult times.
