NIRBHAYA DAY OBSERVED*

The One Stop Centre (Sakhi) Churachandpur and Pherzawl District jointly organised NIRBHAYA DAY today ie the 16th Dec.2021 at 5:30 Pm at the Office of One Stop Centre, Churachandpur observing by declaring the Day as Solidarity day for victims of Gender Based Violence

The day was observed to pay a tribute to Nirbhaya,a 23 year old girl who died after a brutal gang- raped by 6 (six) men inside a bus in Delhi South on the night of the 16th Dec.2012 and declaration of the day as Nibhaya Day to show solidarity to women & girls victims of violence.The activity of the day includes a two minutes Silence,Reading out of the Declaration and a Candle light vigil.

One Stop Centre(Sakhi) is instituted in every district of the country by the Government of India through the Ministry of Women and Child Development under the NIRBHAYA FUND to help women and girls in distress.The OSC CCPur & Pherzawl is managed by the Action for Women and Child Advancement(AWCA) in collaboration with the Deputy commissioner.
