SUCCESS STORY OF NGAILUT SHG-KINGKIN VILLAGE

NGAILUT SHG is one of the SHG that is functioning at Kingkin Village. The Village is located at Churachandpur District, Manipur under Tuibong Block which is 2km away from the National Highway (Main road). The village is surrounded by Some other village ie. In West- S Molchan Village, East- S.Haijang village,  North East-Kholmun, South- M. Songgel Village. The village is situated between this village. This village was established in the year 1965 by Pu, Chunglet and it was maintained under his chieftainship and the village had 13 houses. Since it was a small village from its inception it was hard to get government facilities like development funds, health facilities etc.

NGAILUT SHG was formed in the year 2012 due to financial difficulty faced in the village and loan was taken from an NGO RAS( Rural Aid Service) But due to its high interest and difficulty in its repayment of interest and capital no one was able to take up large loan amount and the loan taken was not sufficient enough to provide the family basic necessities like everyday groceries and children education, but they are troubled only with its repayment forgetting our poor living condition and unable to do other alternative works to support ourselves. So, for 2 years the group members collected money and used it for its loan capital repayment after which taking loan from RAS was stopped completely.

Living condition was hard and the financial crisis in the village worsen. In 2016NERCORMP Project was introduced at KINGKIN Village where the NGO take initiative part in formation of NaRM-G & SHGs wherein NGAILUT SHG was formed with 13 members, the President, secretary and Treasurer as bank signatories under which bank account was opened.

After a year a sum of Rs. 35,659/- was received from NERCORMP. The funds were utilized for Weaving, Piggery, & Petty Shop. The funds were Beneficial’s for that family who has less income with D category. The loans were distributed among the members with only 1% interest which was a blessing as compared to the previous loan with a high interest.

Till now loan was taken four times and the loan was made as revolving loan system . In a meanwhile the group also brings monthly saving of Rs.20/- per members as they kept continued  after 2 years the group  resolve to implement Turmeric farm from their saving amount . on March 1^st week of 2019 in group Turmeric farm was started by tilling and plantation was started under the group name. The work on the farm was taken up continuously one hidden success was that there is unity among the members as they work together in group and group loans were going smoothly.  By now corpus fund of Rs. 125000/- is kept  and loan disbursement in between the members   helps immensely. Loan like piggery loan, Weaving loans and non-farm business helps member increased their income source and improved member living condition.

Besides the success in loan NERCORMP Project imparts us several training like Account training – books of records and file maintaining were from learning  members became familiarized. The success in everything like financial stability and household maintenance were brought through NERCORMP Project further the group also like to  appreciate and show gratitude towards NERCORMP.

Lastly with great hope and humble prayer that NERCORMP Project will continue to support NGAILUT SHG in future day to come and we are grateful to NERCORMP for helping us to overcome our financial difficulty  we continue to pray that NERCORMP to be our blessing in the  future.
