TAILORING TRAINING

Action for Women and Child Advancement organised tailoring classes for 20 women who are  Indigenous women belonging to various tribes native to Churachandpur, Manipur. The training is funded by Manipur State Women Development Corporation
(MSWDC) for a duration of 6 months with classes beginning from September 2018. The trainees will be equipped with cutting and tailoring skills. Building their skills will contribute to the larger goal of empowering and advancing women by providing them skills, knowledge and economic independence.

Some of the women are single parent and often the sole bread earner in the family. Many of them are survivors of domestic violence and victims of poverty.

The selection for the training was based on a series of selection process. Need based assessment and personal interview was carried out as selection procedure.
